Joint vs Nuclear family
Joint and Nuclear family.
Indian society had the rich history of joint family. Grandparents, uncle aunts father , mother and cousins were living under one roof. cousins becoming friends , play together, do mischief together. Cousins shared secret , stayed together through thick and thin. Younger sibling gets bullied in school, gets in a fight , faces trouble cousin would lend a hand and pull out troubled one from the trouble.
Person having difficulty in making friends , joint family cousins automatically becomes friend together. Life was better for the children. Beside the parents , any family member willingly looks after the kids in absence of parents from the home.
In joint family everything is shared. From shirt of cousins, games ,money is shared among the family. Sad tears to laughing smile all emotions are shared equally among the family.
One huge fight among any family member can hurt the whole family. Money has become the fourth pillar of human life beside bread clothes and housing. Money is not a big thing but it has become a source of all great things. Money has become the symbol of success.
Time changes everything, the pressure on one person to earn for all, takes a toll. Create lot of pressure and some person greed creates tension and fight. Jealousy among family, in success , achivement and money creates chaotic environment in the house. So family breaks apart.
My right , my ego has created lot of friction in the hearts and mind. People has started to fight , worse take the matter in the court. So family breaks apart giving birth to Nuclear family.
In nuclear family, child is alone if child has no sibling. Child or any family member seldom feels alone. Secert no longer has chance to remain in home. No longer shoulder to cry , hands to hold when fall down. But family dispute chances are decreased. Though in loneliness one can find solitude and grow. Humans grows stronger when they overcome challenge alone.
Family love is equally important but in online world time , joint family is a difficult theme to live. Nuclear family is an ideal theme and many people actually live with this theme. Though apart but family needs to meet and greet often. So as to know family member as people tend to forget family. Joint family was ideal of its time but with changing times nuclear family has become ideal but love and glory of joint family is never lost.
